Consumers are getting smarter, and they’re pretty smart to begin with now! This means that the old ways of selling don’t work so well anymore. It’s much more about word of mouth, it’s much more about solving problems – so what’s your solution?
I’m not interested in bandwidth, I don’t care about technical features – I want more than just benefits… I want to know what your services will do to improve my life! Within a lot of sales teams – is it any wonder that traditional products sales training just doesn’t cut it anymore.
We need more “solution sales experts”. Trouble is they’re few and far between, they’re expensive and a lot of their skillsets can’t be learnt – it’s an inherent part of who they are as a person. But don’t despair of your current motley sales crew. Just because they don’t do solution sales – doesn’t mean that they can’t!

It’s the old 80/20 rule brought to life – yes it’s not going to be 100% accurate for maybe a detailed technical proposal – but if it’s 80% accurate and delivered in 2 hours, rather than 2 weeks – that’s got to be better!
